Attack Ads Target McCrory

It is an attack ad against Pat McCrory airing on radio stations outside of this market.

"And it was reported in the Charlotte Observer that one attraction of being governor is that he might aid Charlotte from that office," the ad says.

According to McCrory, there were some key words that were omitted from that quote.

McCrory said, "He stopped it in mid sentence, where I say this would be good for Charlotte and other metropolitan areas."

Smith's campaign didn't want us to have the ad, but it was offered by the McCrory camp.

The Charlotte mayor calls it a classic case of election year bait and switch.

"The Raleigh politicians come to Charlotte and they tell us how much they love us, and they leave Charlotte and they tell the rest of the state something else," McCrory said.
